Mahadia Tunga

Mahadia Tunga is a co-founder of Tanzania Data Lab (dLab) and Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), University of Dar es Salaam. She received a master’s and bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Dar es Salaam in 2009 and 2014, respectively, and currently pursuing a PhD in Data Science focusing on predicting the cause of death using verbal autopsy surveys. Her research interests include open data, machine learning, natural language processing, big data and geospatial technologies.
